Mother’s Care retains children in classrooms. It gives them a hope to complete their studies up to pre- university level. Today there are more than  1322 children in different parts of India, being covered under this project.

Impact And Success

Shafika has been with mother’s care since 6 years and is in 12th right now. Her father is a rickshaw puller and has to feed a family of five, in a situation where survival becomes the priority, education takes a back seat. She was the only girl child in the family which became a reason for her parents to not send her to school. When asked about her journey with mother care she said “mother’s care has provided me with right to education”, back when I was 9-year-old, I used sit in the veranda of my house and see my 4 brothers going to school, hoping for the when I will join them and “now look at me I going to pass out of school next year” said with her eyes filled with tears. The support is more significant as being a girl child and not having enough opportunities for education. Thanks to the Mother’s care Programme that protected and gifted the child with her rights.
